Hammer nut selection starts with two dimensions: the aluminum profile slot and the thread that will receive the bolt. A correct thread choice supports reliable assembly, while an incorrect choice can cause installation delays or insufficient fastening performance.

Start with the profile slot

Do not select a hammer nut by thread size alone. The body of the nut must match the geometry of the T-slot in the aluminum extrusion. Confirm the profile series and slot opening from the drawing before choosing a model. The rotation feature must engage correctly once the nut is turned into its locking position.

Choosing between M3 and M8 threads

Smaller threads such as M3 and M4 are commonly considered for light accessories, cable-management components, covers, or compact fixtures. M5 and M6 are frequent choices for general profile-frame connections. M8 may be selected for heavier accessories or larger structural attachments when the profile, connection design, and load calculation support it.
